Dermot Cullen

Born in South East London, Dermot began dancing at the age of Six and won his first Major Irish Dance Championship, 'The British National Championships' aged Seven. Since this early success, Dermot has gone on to win, three All Ireland Championships, three British National Championships, two North American Championships and Eight Great Britain Championships. Dermot retired from competitive dance when he won his second World Championship title in 2007.

Dermot's professional dance career began when he performed with the cast of Riverdance on BBC'S Record Breakers aged nine. Since then Dermot has performed principal male roles in shows such as, Magic of the Dance, Gaelforce Dance and toured with award winning folk group Cherish the Ladies

 

As a natural progression the Cullen Academy of Irish Dance was founded to carry on the tradition of Irish Dancing. Classes are held in Kent and South East London. Please visit the class information link above for more info.
